Day 36

This is the back of my parent's house during a snow fall.

Day 35

This is pretty much the view from my apartment window. Took this at about 11o'clock one night

Day 34

Full moon with clouds moving pretty fast is what created the blur effect.

Day 33

Took this at the new Student Union on campus. They have an awesome buffet upstairs.

Day 32

Found the sign laying in a ditch on the side of the road and I had to pick it up. I am a part of Adopt-a-Highway, you know.

Day 31

That's the piston out of my motorcycle. It's not supposed to be scratched and marred like that.

Day 30

Just some bridge on the way to my brother's house.

Day 29

The new entrance to school.

Day 28

No the lens isn't supposed to look like that. A series of events led to the camera getting knocked out of my hand and landing on the only non-carpeted area in our apartment. She had a good run..... R.I.P.

Day 27

Took this at a pond near campus.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Day 26

This is a piece of art on campus near the engineering building.

Day 25

Ripple on the lake. I was duck hunting when I snapped this picture.

Day 24

Who would have thought I could levitate?

Day 23

This is my room mate and his girlfriend.

Day 22

Snapped this at a pond near school. Nice place to relax although I don't get there enough.

Day 21

Made this in my machine shop class last year. It's a cube inside of a cube and it can not be removed. If it can't be removed how did it get in there!?

Day 20

This is a glow stick tied to the ceiling fan. Laid down on the floor to snap this perfect circle.

Day 19

Took this while working on a puzzle. Got to keep your eye on the goal.

Day 18

I took this by zooming out or in while the shutter was open. Think they call it lens blur?

Day 17

This is one of my friends thats in my engineering classes. Like I said, I love multiplicity shots.

Day 16

Snapped this out my apartment window one evening.

Day 15

I call this one Ambush, because he(he being me!) has no idea. I really like multiplicity shots and couldn't be happier with this one.

Day 14

I walked outside to take some pictures and these guys just happened to be flying around. This shot consists of 8 individual pictures put together using Photoshop. I didn't change how close they flew to each other or anything.

Day 13

This is me smashing a window. This one was a lot of fun to make.

Day 12

This is the old steel truss bridge in High Shoals, NC. It was built in 1931 and replaced with the new one you see in the 70's. They left the old bridge up, because of that pipe. They decided it would have cost to much to relocate the water pipe to the new bridge. If you come by this bridge in the summer time there's a good chance there are going to be kids jumping off into the river about 25 feet below.

Day 11

This is the Indian Creek Dam. This one is directly behind my house. It's about 30 feet tall at the highest point and was updated in 1931. You can still see the names of the fellas in the concrete where they wrote them. I've already put up 2 pictures of dams and quite frankly there are a dam lotta dams around here!

Day 10

This is my first HDR and I think it turned out well.

Day 9

A whole buncha bolts. They have been laying there since I can remember and I've lived in the same place for 21 years.

Day 8

One of my favorite tree images. The clouds really make the picture.

Day 7

This is the Laboratory Mill Dam. They call it Laboratory, because there used to be a laboratory that made pharmaceuticals during the Civil war. The back wall of the lab can still be seen today.

Day 6

I believe this was around a one second exposure. Handheld at that!

Day 5

My cousin and I were taking down some tree stands we used for deer hunting this year when I took this image

Day 4

Went out duck hunting one evening and to my disappointment did not find any on the pond we were hunting. But on the way out I snapped this of my cousin. I really like this one.

Day 3

That's Cooterback Dam. I didn't make that name up! That was the name of the mill that used the dam for power in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Mill burned down in 1929. My cousins actually use Cooterback as their drag racing name. If you drag race in NC there's a pretty good chance you've heard of them. It's hard to forget Cooterback!

Day 2

Captured this right behind my house.

Day 1

Got my camera as a Christmas present so I figured I would do something that relates. You can tell it was taken after Christmas morning, because all the presents are gone!

About Me

Well, I'm a Mechanical Engineering student(pretty much consumes my life) at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have about a year and a half left before I get out into the "real world." I was hired as an intern and will be working with General Electric this summer. Very excited about this, because it's a HUGE resume builder. Other than that I'm just a normal country boy and love to have a good time with friends. Oh yea, I like hunting and riding dirt bikes, too.

That's me flying with pops.

Over the next 340 some odd days I'm going to be trying to post a pic, or at least take a couple, every day until Christmas day 2010. The quality of the images will probably go down as school starts back and demands all my time, but I'm gonna try and do something every day relating to photography. I've been at it for almost 3 weeks now and just decided to get a blog and throw them up here. Maybe that will make me be more likely to take pictures. IDK.
